Our newly designed eco-friendly self-contained / catering apartment is attached to the house, but extremely private. It has air-to-water heating system, an automatic ventilation system, fire alarm, underfloor heating, triple glazed windows, WiFi, tv & with Netflix.
With plenty of parking and personal space, it has everything you need to have a comfortable and relaxing home-from-home experience.
Enjoy views of our traditional Beech tree-lined walled-garden, outdoor seating to watch Annaghdown’s spectacular sunsets, as well as gentle evening walks around our family run farm, or to Lough Corrib Lake, which is popular with bird-watchers (sightings of Little Egrets, Whooper Swans, Hawks and Kingfishers.
The renovated apartment was once the old turf house.
For centuries turf has been the principle fuel used throughout Ireland for heating (& cooking up until the 19th Century). Recently EU directives deemed many turf-bogs as sites of important biodiversity, so it is a rare occurance to find turf-filled fires today.
Corrib View has a selection of authentic wood-burning stoves, which are more sustainable, and yet retain the original authentic charm of turf.
